First Catboat.....Alerion 19 good choice?

Good day,folks. Seems like a great forum you have here so I thought I'd butt in and try to garner some info. I always sailed and race sloops (currently selling my J22) but am now retiring to an island on Narragansett Bay and hoping to daysail and gunkhole...I'm thinking a shallow draft catboat is just the ticket. I'm wondering which way to go..modern into an Alerion 19 or stay traditional with a Marshall?? Any Alerion owners out there willing to share experiences good and bad?? Thanks.....Wayne
