Boat Reviews By Owners

2005 -- 18' 0" STINGRAY

Model: 180RX

Cockpit: Big enough for my 6'4 260lb self, wife and couple of friends. Helm is styled simple but classy no frills but clean and easy to read all gauges. Seats are well constructed and comfortable.

Cabin: The cabin has lots of storage. The boat has provided us with several great weekend excursions and fishing trips without the feeling of clutter or chlostrophobia. 18ft never considered for overnights but I guess you could if you wanted to.

Construction: The interior is extremely well put together. However, I have only one concern about this boat and that is he hull. It takes waves quite well until they reach about 18" after that it becomes a ruff ride and a bit of bashing occurs even @ slow speeds. However Stingray backs it for five years so it must able to take it.

Handling: Handles like a dream at all speeds in reasonable chop. Hugs turns and very responsive fingertip steering.

Engine Room: Very impressive power for a 3.0 litre 135hp. In other words it pulls my fat ... out of the water with no problem.(w/3 people in boat) Boat will do 47mph on GPS with just me in it.

General Comments: We primarily used our boat for day cruises and fishing expeditions, it works fantastic for both. We are both quite pleased that there actually are still good deals out there where you don't have to sacrifice quality.
