Boat Reviews By Owners

2004 -- 22' 5" KEY WEST

Cockpit: Great visibility, plenty of room to fish fore and aft.

Cabin: Center console cabin good for potty and storage.

Construction: I love a Key West boat. This is my second Key West purchase. I have only had minor issues with factory accessories. My Key West has never left me stranded. A Key West boat will maintain it's luster with minimal waxing. I have even visited the factory in South Carolina. They arranged a tour and rolled out the "Red Carpet." Great company, great people!

Handling: Handles great, you just have to learn the boat and the seas. Practice, practice, practice. The bigger the seas the slower you go. Very dry boat. Not fun in 5-6 foot seas, but felt safe. Able to do 3-4 foot seas at 15-18 mph without getting beat up too bad.

Engine Room: Yamaha F225 Four Stroke. Perfect match for this boat. Cruises 25-28 mph at 3500 rpms, and top speed is 48 mph 5600 rpms.

General Comments: No boat is perfect. Proper maintenance and preparation means everything. I wouldn't hesitate buying another Key West or recommending it either.
