Boat Reviews By Owners

2004 -- 18' 0" CHAPARRAL

Model: 180 SSi - Bowrider

Cockpit: Plenty of room for two or three people. The boat is rated to hold 8, but any more than four is cramped. Good visibility from the cockbit. This boat is ideal for cruising, skiing or a picnic. I wouldn't recommend fishing.

Cabin: N/A - Bowrider

Construction: Constructed well. Nice and sturdy.

Handling: Handles very well on flat seas in very protected waters. Very responsive. Seas of 2 - 3 feet will result in a rough ride as the boat is too light to cut through the waves (just bounces on top of them).

Engine Room: 3.0 Liter Volvo Penta. Some minor engine problems, but I wouldn't say there were flaws inherent to the engine. Top speed of about 43 mph with two adults and cooler.

General Comments: Excellent starter boat. Would recommend for lakes or protected waters. Small enough to fit in a two car garage with a trailer that features the hinged toungue.
