Boat Reviews By Owners

2007 -- 19' 4" BAYLINER

Model: Discovery 192

Cockpit: Very roomy cockpit with the helm bucket seat. Driver visibility great when seated and there is plenty of room for standing at the helm. Cockpit table nice for picnicing and can be stowed for fishing. Extended swim platform well worth the extra money.

Cabin: Good head room inside the cuddy. Plenty of "overnight" room for two adults. Two overhead lights, a 12 volt DC outlet, and a storage bin are nice features. The porta-potti is easily removed for added leg room.

Construction: Fit and finish of hull and hardware are above average. Carpet fit and trim inside the cuddy are below average. The anchor locker and the two in-deck storage bins in the cockpit are great! Hinged engine hatch with gas struts a welcome feature.

Handling: Handles great at all speeds with the optional power steering. Slow to get on plane with all of the cockpit seats occupied. High freeboard and enclosed bow add an extra margine of safety when the going gets rough.

Engine Room: 3.0 liter 135 HP Mercruiser idles rough but has adequate power and is good on gas. The small 24 gallon gas tank would be a bit of a handicap with a larger engine. Ten or fifteen more gallons of gas would be welcome!

General Comments: A totally different (and much more expensive) boat than the previous 192 "Classic Cuddy." In short, a very capable fishing or family fun boat. Easy to trailer, but bring a small stepladder!
