Boat Reviews By Owners

1979 -- 37' 0" IRWIN

Model: center cockpit

Cockpit: great visibility, the cockpit is roomy and seems to attract other cruisers for sundowners.

Cabin: the forward stateroom is cavernous with a huge bed,and head w/shower as well as the aft stateroom complete with couch and head w/shower. the saloon is very roomy however the head room on the couch could be a bit more. the headroom over all is very good I am 6'2" and have no trouble with the overhead. There are a couple of head knockers at the entrance of the staterooms forward and aft as they are a step down. However you only forget to duck once, hahaha ouch!

Construction: The finish work leaves a little to be desired but overall is very accommodating. She was laid up with a full keel and is like a rock at sea. Very comfortable.I have removed the table and built a new one to only accommodate two of us.The back deck is big enough for my wife and I to sit in deck chairs and enjoy the sundowns.

Handling: She handles very well in big seas. She in about 25mph winds she is just coming into her own with out a reef. She is a little slow in light wind but makes up for it when the wind picks up

Engine Room: a very roomy and accessible engine room with a Perkins 4-108

General Comments: My wife and I live aboard and cruise the Caribbean in the winter and the Med in the summer
