Boat Reviews By Owners

2007 -- 18' 0" WELLCRAFT

Model: Sportsman180

Cockpit: No frills but does the job and does it well. Nice mounting for my GPS/Sonar/Chart plotter. Nice tilt wheel with power steering knob for easy maneuvering around the dock. Seat swivels and slides but no bolster. Kind of tight to stand and drive but I do it all the time.

Cabin: no cabin

Construction: Happy with the overall quality. Wish there were latches on the little storage areas. Nothing has rattled loose in 3 hundred hours of motor use.

Handling: This is where this boat shows up the competition. Deep V with 20 degrees of dead rise cuts the chop nice. Reverse chimes keeping everyone dry 95% of the time. I have friends with the same size boat that on rough days they don't want to take out there boats but have no problem going out on mine.

Engine Room: 2007 Evinrude E-Tec 115 hp. Dealer had boat way over propped with top RPM of 4200. After re propping with 14x17 stainless steel she came to life big time. Solid pulls coming out of the hole with max weight and people. Top speed of 40+mph. Nice and quiet, troll all day or run wide open all day. Always starts first time turned over. Never a worry with this motor

General Comments: Used as a fish boat, a ski boat, cruise boat going 100 miles or cruising. Rafting up with friends in quiet coves so kids can play and swim and parents can Barbecue with the grill and enjoy a cold one. Enjoyment we have received from this boat is priceless.
