Boat Reviews By Owners

1987 -- 17' 0" HYDROSTREAM

Model: Vamp

Cockpit: Decent size cockpit. Do not like back to back fold down seats. Would prefer buckets and rear bench. Good visibility through windshield. Good for water skiing and pulling recreational devices. Bow rider area has unique lounge type seating.

Cabin: Very little storage.

Construction: Hull was built for speed not durability. Stringers became separated from hull causing stress cracks which led to major leaks. Very poor construction.

Handling: Handles ok. Not seaworthy due to low freeboard. Transom very low allows following wake to break over transom. Only good for very calm lake use.

Engine Room: 140 HP Mercury outboard. Provides plenty of power for this hull. Lack of power tilt/trim a major problem. Otherwise engine runs very well.

General Comments: Would not recommend this boat. Poor construction overall. Ok if you can find one in decent shape for skiing and tubing or racing.
