Boat Reviews By Owners

1973 -- 18' 0" STERNCRAFT

Model:

Cockpit: This is a 8-person max boat, with the cockpit being a seat for the driver. But roomier than most later model boats, great visibility, good for fishing, skiing, camping, or even 3-day trips, IF equipped sensibly.

Cabin: Both seats fold out for sleeping. We have slept the entire family on this boat (Dad, Mom, 3 kids) kids slept on floor or forward seats. No cabin, so to speak, but put up the canopy, and everyone feels like they're in a cabin.

Construction: Best construction I've seen, also, being 21 years old, have to replace floor/stringers/transon. Not an easy job, since most of boat is from one mold.

Handling: Turns on a dime without without steep bank. Deep hull features protect riders from spray, kids bouncing out, or swells. Nice comfortable, solid, quiet ride.

Engine Room: On its second engine. First was a Chrysler 105 which went for 20 years, then gave up. Second engine is Mercruiser 100 O/B which drives it fine. Get about 35 mph w/o skiier and moderate load.

General Comments: Love this boat more than any on market today, due to deep hull construction, giving good protection to riders and solid ride without vibration or shimmy.
