Boat Reviews By Owners

2003 -- 21' 8" TROPHY

Model: Center Console

Cockpit: The center console is great and I love this boat, you can do a lot with it. Of course it has some flaws or things that I think could be improved on, which they did on the 2004 model.

Cabin: The center console cabin for the head and storage is big and you can stand straight up in it. However I would have liked to see them put the door on the side of the center console, instead of the front.

Construction: This boat was designed and built very well. I have a few designs that I DON't LIKE AT ALL. The forward bilge pump is located inside the center console and you have a small circle port hole to get to it and is NOT easy to work on AT ALL. BAD DESIGN. They could of made it so much easier to get to or have a better access port.

Handling: The boat runs great in a small chop of sea's and flies when it's smooth sea's.

Engine Room: The boat only comes with Mercury and I guess Trophy has a deal with them. I HATE MERCURY. I have a 200 outboard Merc on this boat. The power is fine, I cruise at around 30 knots at 4,000 rpm with two or three people on board. The engine itself I would not recommmend. My previous boat had a 100 outboard merc and I babied the engine and just outside of the warranty being up the piston got scored with no reason from a tech. I never abussed the engine or over revd. Also, my stickers started to peel off after 2 years and I contacted Mercury for replacement stickers and they wanted approx $150 for the stickers. NO WAY am I paying them for that when I bought their product with the extended warranty of five years and the stickers didn't even make it past the warranty. I could see charging me if it's over 5 years old but 2 years....come on...it shouldn't peel that fast. Buy another outboard.

General Comments: Overall this is a well priced boat for what you get. I looked at all cc in this size and none of came with what I have for the money. The newer models of this boat are REALLY nice and I would definitely suggest looking into them if your considering to buy a center console of this size or round about size.
