Boat Reviews By Owners

2003 -- 23' 0" CARAVELLE

Model: Sea Hawk Center Console

Cockpit: Cockpit is adequate but majority of room is in bow area which is great for cruising and entertaining. Nice wide walkaround console so easy to get around boat.

Cabin: Only cabin is in console and I installed largest porta-potti made (Thetford). Head is very spacious for a 23' boat. I'm 6'3" and can almost stand up.

Construction: Very well built. I live in southeast Florida and ocean fish. No worries about taking it offshore. Caravelle has been great with support too.

Handling: Rides a bit bow high (before trimming) due to 4-stroke engine weight and console being farther aft due to large bow seating area, but some weight (sandbags) in anchor locker cures that. Deep vee hull rocks a bit at slow speed or anchor with people movement but handles ocean waves to 4' with no problem. Boat can handle worse seas but over 4' it's no fun for me.

Engine Room: 225-hp Yamaha 4-stroke is a great combo. Get about 5mpg trolling and 3mpg cruising at 25mph. Tops out about 37mph but I have large t-top and cruise with lots of gear and people.

General Comments: Fish, cruise and even overnighting with bimini top and Taylor BoaTent over bow area. Great boat that does so many things well. Have almost 600 hours on engine with no problems. The more we use it the better it gets and the more we like it.
