Boat Reviews By Owners

2008 -- 17' 0" TROPHY

Model: 1703 CC

Cockpit: My boat is only 17' but you would think fishing or riding in it, it is much bigger. I fish a lot, but on any givin Sunday my wife and I will just throw anchor listen to music and lounge. The boat tows my son around on a BIG MABLE towable tube with little effort and handles great.

Construction: Well since Trophy broke off from Bay Liner and now stands on its own name and was bought by Bruswick corp.who also builds Boston Whaler, the quality is just awesome, my boat is Pacific Blue and white and I get comments all the time at the boat ramp, like wow great looking boat.

Handling: This boat handles great, takes turns at any safe speed steady. If you order your Trophy I recommend the Power Steering option, you won't be sorry.

Engine Room: I powered mine with Mercury's Optimax 115HP. It will plane in about 1 or 2 seconds and with a lite fuel load and just my wife and I, I hit 51MPH. Boat holds 37 Gal. and the optimax is known for fuel economy. I have been in the water most weekends since Feb. and I can go fishing and playing 4 to 5 trips before I put fuel in. I towed my son and nephew around for 3 to 4 hours and only burned 7 gallons. Cons, Optimax DFI oil is expensive, about $33.00 Gal. you will use about 3 quarts per 37 gals of fuel.

General Comments: For me I bought the right size boat, for fuel economy, family fun and fishability. The Quality of a Trophy is a nice surprize compared to a higher price big name brand. When Brunswick bought Trophy they really did there homework and make a great boat, I am looking forward to next year on the water, because my first full year with this boat has exceeded everything I wanted in my boat.
