Boat Reviews By Owners

2000 -- 27' 0" ROBALO

Model: 2640 Cuddy Cabin w/Hardtop

Cockpit: Cockpit is wide and long. Four of us fish offshore, one inprotable fighting chair the other on built in seats. ood visibility while driving, captians seat is movable, has good foot support moulded in to helm.

Cabin: Cabin has room to sleep, head is tight when showering, took trip from West Plam Beach to Jacksonville, Fl. spent three nights with wife-no complaints. Did stop for meals at variuos harbors along the way. Has stove, ref ac/dc,shore power, holding tank, head, shower, v-breth.

Construction: I am please with the fit and finish. The boat takes a pounding as I fish offshore in 5 to 7' wave and it handles this with no problem. I enjoy 2 to 3' waves more and so does the family. We like the back seat with a fold down back rest. This gives extra room for when you stop for a meal or just crusing the river or lake.

Handling: Rides well with 2-150 HP Mercurys. Fuel consumption is good, around 2.5 miles/gal. at 32 to 35 mph. She is very seaworthy, turns well at higher speeds with out losing RPM's. Hull planes easy but needs the motors trimmed to stay level with a load. I do not like using the trim tabs at high speeds.

Engine Room: Two 150 HP Mercury Opitmax. Had some problems at first but Mercury stood behind the product and the dealer was very helpful. I would always buy Mercurys and will recommend this brand. Very please with the fuel consumption. The baot runs 45 MPH at 5400 rpms, crusies 25 to 30 MPH at 3700 RPM's.

General Comments: I like the boat. I live on the St Johns River, keep the boat on my baot lift in the backyard. She has a hardtop, radar, outriggers and handles the rough river well. I trailer the boat and it is a little tough getting it on the trialer when we go to a lake or trailer to the Florida Keys. We can snorkel, scuba, and swim off her. We take her to the Pro Football game (Jaguars) and stay the night, have food and liquid refreshments and have lots of folks on and around the boat. Have cabin enclosure which keeps the rain and cold out while running or when stored, I recommend this option.
