Boat Reviews By Owners

2008 -- 17' 9" OLD WHARF DORY

Model: Billingsgate Bass Boat

Cockpit: Excellent layout - plenty of room, very dry ride. Classic up-swept bow and raked transom make for great handling in rough seas.

Cabin: Dry storage forward and sufficient cockpit room for fishing or pleasure. A lot of room for a boat under 18 feet.

Construction: A blend of traditional and modern wooden boat construction. Epoxy encapsulated marine ply lapstrake hull.

Handling: 30 knots at wide open throttle with a 50 hp. Evinrude E-tec. Turns on a dime, no sliding at all. Handles beautifully and trailers easily.

Engine Room: Boat is powered with an Evinrude E-tec 50 HP in a well forward of the transom. Extremely efficient - sips gas and gets up on plane in a jiffy!

General Comments: I am extremely happy with my boat. Walter Baron at Old Wharf Dory did a great job in both design and construction. This is a beautiful, economical and safe boat that turns heads whever she's launched. Highly recommended.
