Boat Reviews By Owners
1975 -- 15' 6" GLASTRON
Model: V-156 Sportster
Cockpit: This good old boat doesn't have molded in cupholders, an ice chest, or a 1000W stereo system. But without all that stuff it's light. Seats 6 - 2 in bow and 4 in back to back cabin seats.
Construction: Very solid. You don't have to worry about scratches too much on solid fiberglass. No cores to get soggy. The construction quality is pretty good, but not fancy.
Handling: Seaworthy? No, this is strictly for bays and inland waters. It's a tri-hull bowrider after all.
Engine Room: 1975 Johnson outboard. Smoky and loud, the way an old outboard should be. 2 hp. Honda 4 stroke kicker, for safety. Pulls a skier easily on such a light boat.
General Comments: This was the most popular runabout sold in the 70s because it's just so cute. It's easy to pull behind almost any car and putting in and taking it out are a piece of cake. Low cost, low maintenance - the most fun for the time and money.
