Boat Reviews By Owners
1998 -- 23' 11" CHAPARRAL
Model: Signature 240
Cockpit: The cockpit is comfortable and nicely laid out. It'll fit 4-5 comfortably but any more and it starts getting a little crowded.
Cabin: Small cabin (small boat) but more than adequate for spending the night on the hook. Not much room to stand in terms of square footage but plenty of headroom and a full galley. The head is the execption in terms of headroom and most men avg height or taller will have to bend their knees some to go while standing up.
Construction: Very well built and feels solid in all conditions. The boat is 12 years old and we haven't experienced any real problems with it.
Handling: Handles great but can feel lost in the Chesapeake on rough days. We've been in 4-5 ft seas with it and while it wasn't fun, the boat still felt solid.
Engine Room: Powered with a 5.7 Merc and Bravo 3...gets up goes. Cruises at about 30 pretty easily.
General Comments: This is our first boat and it's been a great way to start for us. We're thinking of trading up just because we've come to enjoy the boating lifestyle and want something with a little more room for a family of 4 plus company.
