Boat Reviews By Owners

1981 -- 23' 0" MAKO

Model: 238

Cockpit: Plenty of space and gadgets, only complaint is the lack of power steering and the fuel gauge is not accurate. The cockpit area can be completely enclosed during harsh weather.

Cabin: Simple but comfortable cabin with lots of storage space and ventilation. Being a walkabout is also nice in terms of not losing space on the bow.

Construction: Built like a rock! A floating one of course. I have complete confidence in rough seas and regularly take it far off shore. The boat has an adequate livewell, storage, and 125 gallon fuel tank.

Handling: A very seaworthy vessel, its weight helps it cut through rough seas. I have never tried to ski with it, imagine I could drag someone well (haha).

Engine Room: My engine is a 1991 Evinrude 225, it has performed well but I plan to replace it soon, probably with a Yamaha of similat size. Friends with larger boats often can't accompany me to sea because of their smaller fuel capacity and lighter hulls.

General Comments: Great family boat, my kids love it. It also has plenty of deck space for transporting friends on fishing trips. A very safe and reliable craft.
