Boat Reviews By Owners

2001 -- 21' 0" CHRIS CRAFT

Model: 210 bowrider

Cockpit: great layout with of lots seats. good visibilty from helm. ski locker is wide enough for knee board but very shallow. a wake board with high boots may not fit. controls very smooth. boarding from dock is awkward because you must step on rear seat to enter. swim step and ladder work well. standard bimini is above average in construction and shape. porta potti in port cuddy is kind of a joke anyone over 5'4" will not fit. tons of storage space with ice chest in its own spot.

Construction: overall well built boat. very solid. i have been 10 miles off shore and felt comfortable. some rigging issues when new i spent 15 to 18 hrs reworking some wiring and drains. all fixes were easy just time consuming. engine copartment layout is good not great. reasonable access to all areas the require regular maint. twin batteries are shoehorned in but are easy to get to for water check. fiberglass work is very good. gauge layout was poor. the installation of instrument pakage required a lot of clean up and still is not great. the deck is very solid under foot even when the kids jump down from the sunpad/rear seat area. i have not ridden in the front but my kids tell me it is great up there.

Handling: the boat drives well gets on level quick, turns sharp and predictable. takes chop and swell with ease. this is not an open ocean boat but does will in the ocean. you should have no trouble on most lakes.

Engine Room: 5.0 gi duoprop volvo penta. i would get the 5.7 next time. adequate power for most things but when the crew is on board it works to get a single skier up.

General Comments: i purchased my boat just when chris craft was starting to hear it was in trouble. i think this may have been the cause of some of my early troubles. it is a good all around boat. not great at any one thing but good at a few. i would like to have a 5.7 gi engine but the "deal" was on the 5.0 gi. if you are going to use it for wake/knee boarding and just running around the 5.0 is very adequate. if you plan to ski with 5 to 7 people on board the 5.0 is a little light.
