Boat Reviews By Owners
1970 -- 33' 3" JENSON MARINE
Model: Cal 34
Cockpit: 10' cockpit, tiller steering (keeping it simple), very dry, comfortable, just ok for fishing but great for LIVING. Originally purchased to fix-up and take off on, but work got in the way.
Cabin: 6'5" headroom, galley starboard, which serves as nav station, excellent visbility from below, easy access to cockpit (can bring hot coffee easily from below)
Construction: built like a tank..been thru hurricane, 40' waves offshore..scared me but not the boat.
Handling: Great off the wind but not a screamer when close hauled. But still manages to tack thru 95 degrees. With 150 genoa no need to reef till 20 knots.
Engine Room: Repowered with 27 HP Yanmar (had Atomic 4) At 2,000 rpm cruises at 6.7 knots. Also have martec folding prop, just need more rpm's when in reverse..but under sail is fabulous.
General Comments: She's soon to be 33 years old, have owned and modernized over past 18 years..will keep for probably another 18 yrs.
