Boat Reviews By Owners
1988 -- 26' 7" SLICKCRAFT
Cockpit: Large for outside enjoyment. Nearly 9' beam. Great for large family. Helm visibility is very good on plane. With 330hp Mercruiser lots of power. Trim tabs unnecessary. Comfortably seats 7.
Cabin: Small for a boat this size, but plush. The advantage is more outside room (typical for a "day cruiser"). 2 person sofa seat, V-birth w/table or sleep 2, sink, ise chest, lots of storage. Great design.
Construction: Solid! Nothing is built like the S-2 line of boats (slickcraft, tiara, pursuit). 14 years old and looks/acts like new. Problem areas - NONE!
Handling: Handles great, solid ride, planes readily, can handle big water. Best for large inland resevoirs. Too big for little pond type lakes, and OK for great lakes if not too rough (3 footers are uncomfortable for novice boaters), but from a safety point of view she can handle much more.
Engine Room: Mercruiser 454 ci, 7.4 L, 330 hp., Bravo 1 stern drive. Great, reliable engine. Lots of power. Good for skiing (need 75-100' rope though due to size of wake). Planes quickly. Top speed 50+(under ideal conditions). Very smooth. MPFI would be better for starting, but this boat starts pretty well, and offers the simplicity of carburators.
General Comments: Great boat, wish S-2 still made performance boats in this size. Pulls great with Ford Expedition or Lincoln Navigator. Need tandem trailer. Boat dry weight is 5000#. Boat w/ trailer and gear around 7500#.
