Boat Reviews By Owners

2001 -- 19' 0" STINGRAY

Model: 190 CX

Cockpit: The cx configuation has the large sundeck so the interior cockpit space is somewhat limited. But it gives the boat a very sporty feeling. Excellent configuration for 4-5 people. It has a full set of gauges and nicely appointed and visible. The gauge set could use a little help in the lighting dept but overall interior, its cush.

Cabin: As expected on a 19ft, the cabin in not large, but you could overnight in it. Its fully lighted, vented and quite comforable. Include the full canvas set and its a weekender for sure.

Construction: The hull construction is good to very good. Nice gel, nothing loose or about to be loose and GOOD looking. Tie downs, ski eye, window construction are all good. Interior vinil is thick and rugged. The only draw back would have to be the carpet. Its of a good quality but they must have cut it with dull putty knife and installed it with a jackhammer. But I trimmed it up and re-tucked it and its fine.

Handling: ZP baby, don't be fooled. It works and works well. Merc @190hp, 4.3l v6 carb, Its rated and 56mph with a 23p prop and it will get there. BUT, its doggie out of the hole, so I put a 21p alu. on it and waa-laa, fast from the shot and is still 52mph, close enough. Blew away ALL fellow boaters on the home lake. BUD LIGHT! Power Steering, it handles fantantic. I've had the boat on the ocean also. A bit rough on the big water but 19ft is 19ft.

Engine Room: 2001 Mercruiser 4.3l carb, 190hp. No problems as of yet and I have scraped bottom a couple of times. The 38gal tank gives it about 100-115 mile range and 90%. Plenty for me.

General Comments: This is my 3rd boat. I bought it used, about 15hr on it, so basically new. So far, so good. I was helping my neighbor fix some things on his 18ft 2001 searay and just checking out that boat pretty much told me that I did very well with the purchase of this boat. But time will tell all.
