Boat Reviews By Owners

1988 -- 19' 0" STARCRAFT

Model: MEDALIST 1901

Cockpit: Cockpit is nice, fully laid out with plenty of guages to give you the feeling you aren't in a boat, but in a convertible automobile. Visibility is not bad, but instead of back to back seating for driver, captain's chair would be nicer, and I'm short as it is!!!

Cabin: This is an open bow boat so no cabin. :(

Construction: Overall, very nicely built, very solid, nice deep gunwalls so the kids don't fall out and you don't feel so close to the water. It's very nice and wide as well so there is plenty of room to move around and plenty of little bins for storage.

Handling: She handles very well for her length and engine size. I had her wide open on the Cumberland River and she made tight turns without a hiccup. She seems well suited for river or lake use. I have not had her out on larger water ways other then Kentucky Lake so I can't say how she would do otherwise.

Engine Room: My boat came with a 3.0L, 130HP which with 3 people totalling nearly 600lbs still had the boat up to around 42 MPH. Again, not too bad for a 19ft boat. I personally would not mind a larger engine!

General Comments: My family loves this boat, we have not had it for very long, but we spend weekends on it every chance we get. Starcraft has been around for 100 years so they must be doing something right!!!
