Boat Reviews By Owners

1986 -- 25' 5" BAYLINER

Model: Cierra 2550

Cockpit: Cockpit is roomy, for helm seat and L seating on the deck, Great visibility. Boat great for Picnicing, and all around watersport.

Cabin: Cabin a big bonus for this boat even for its size. While only 25 ft long the almost ten foot beem enables the boat to have a seperate dinette instead of placing the dinette table in the V-berth. The seperate dinette changes into an extra berth for two more to sleep comfortably. Aft Cabin is also roomy, and very quaint. Lots of storage area for all your necessary and unnecessary items. Seperate head and shower top off the already impressive outlay of the cabin. Sleeps six comfortably overall.

Construction: Well built, and heavy. wide beem gives a larger displacment than most other boats in its class. Even for an 86 the only problems with construction would be the obvious wear and tear with insulation on portals and forward hatch. (those can be replaced with little or no effort).

Handling: Wide beam makes the boat handle just a little different, but not much. She is seaworthy but I would stick to rivers or upper bay area (Chesapeake). No ocean for this ship.

Engine Room: Powered by a 260 HP Volvo Penta 350 (Chevy) Block. Just enough to get underway comfortably. Engine very clean and reliable. Outdrive very good shape once it was out of the water for the winter. I keep extra zinc, and a new prop ( but that is me being cautious). --- New Boater----

General Comments: Love the boat, Great for a first time cabin crusier. Minimum headaches and a hole lot of fun. Amendities also include a alcohol/electric stove, refridgerator, hot water, a seprate sink for both the head and the galley.
