Boat Reviews By Owners

2001 -- 21' 0" LARSON

Model: 212 LXi

Cockpit: The cockpit is large and has great seating. Visibilit is great.

Construction: Major gel coat cracking, faulty hull construction, faulty depth finder. The list goes on and on. Itís too long to share here. I have a boat log that I'd love to share. It details a three years of hassles with this boat. The log is now nine pages long, and still growing. The last time I added up the time it was in the shop being repair was at was last April. At that point, I had the boat 25 months and it had been in the shop for a total of 13 months. and you guessed it, its back in the shop this winter. (At lest I have not had to pay for winter storage!). Contact me at my E-mail address and I can send you a copy of my log. (If you want all of the gory details). To give Larson their due, they have footed the bill for the first two years of gel coat repairs on the deck of the boat. (I am waiting to see if the deck cracks reappear after this winter). But the other problems continue surface. This summer has reveled that the sub floor in the bow of the boat was not properly glassed in during manufacture. As a result, I have massive gel coat cracks in the hull under the bow. (this summer was the first time I beached the boat.)

Handling: Handling and performance are great. The Volo Penta I/O has been great

Engine Room: I'd certainly get another boat with the Volo Penta setup. Mine is the 305 fuel injected model

General Comments: Every thing that Larson didn't make on the boat is great (Except for the depth finder). Unfortunately, the fiberglass work on the boat is shoddy at best. At this point I could not advise anyone to buy one of these boats
