Boat Reviews By Owners

2003 -- 26' 0" GLACIER BAY

Model: 2680 Coastal Runner

Cockpit: Fully enclosed hardtop with excellent visibilty and weather protection. Center walkway a little narrow but passable. 95% of the time people on board choose to hang-out in the cockpit area while underway leading me to believe it's viewed as comfortable and functional.

Cabin: Strickly functional and clean with plenty of space for gear and potty accommadations. Has small sink and shower with queen size berth and large window hatches. Layout is more in tune with a camping experince vs. luxury. Excellent for off-shore fishing breaks.

Construction: Construction has been solid and trouble free after two New England seasons. Fit and finish has been excellent with nothing breaking or becoming loose after repeated open sea exposure.

Handling: Very seaworthy and capable of running at normal crusing speed through 6 foot white caps for hours on end while holding course. The wide spacing between outboards make it very manuverable around the docks. I have not experienced any moments of terror in piloting the boat in numerous conditions.

Engine Room: Yamaha 150's HPDI two strokes. Excellent, no issues, powerful, and moves the boat smartly. Cruise at 28-30 MPH at 4000 RPM and 38-40 MPH at WOT, 5000 RPM.

General Comments: Used for both day boating and offshore tuna fishing. The boat is exposed to Conn. river, Long Island Sound, and open ocean conditions. I switched to a catamaran due to its well know abilities to handle various conditions and have not been disappointed. I always disliked having passenges with white knuckles while underway. Passengers are amazed and enjoy the trip vs. surviving the adventure.
