Boat Reviews By Owners

1985 -- 28' 5" BAYLINER

Model: Contessa.(Capri)

Cockpit: More than ample room in the cockpit area, good visibility, good cruiser.

Cabin: It sleep 6 with no problem.Has a good size head for a 28 foot boat,Not much I can say bad about this boat as far as the cabin layout. This model is much bigger than the new 28 footer because the swim platform and pulpit is not included in with the length of the boat.

Construction: Have owned the boat since new and have not had any structural problems with it at all...

Handling: The boat handles well in smooth and semi rough water...because of the lenght of it it has a rough ride in a heavy chop (not enough lenght to straddle the next wave) as in all boats this size.

Engine Room: The boat was powered with a 260 hp. volvo (chevy)which is not enough power for a boat this size. That was the biggest engine they offered in 85..I up graded it to a 388 stroker engine, which helped a lot..along with a duo-prop

General Comments: I would recommend this boat to anyone who does lite cruising and doesn't go out in choppy seas...
