Boat Reviews By Owners
2003 -- 23' 0" YAMAHA
Cockpit: Cockpit is large and roomy. Seating at the helm is limited, seat slightly too far forward. Optional table seats four for picnics. Controls easily readible. Only problem is seals don't exist for Glove compartment. Easily soaks anything stored inside glove compartment.
Cabin: Bowrider - No Cabin
Construction: Nice design, well built. Yamaha a bit stingy on hull warranty as compared to price/class (5 years). The Bimini is an oversized one, with totally inadequate supports. Must be stored in lower position or it will rip itself from the boat. Support brackets are woefully inadequate. Rear Seating is a superb feature, along with the topside jet cleanouts. Optional table is a big plus. Highly worthwhile. Dual pedestals makes the after deck area your private patio during swim times with a sunset drink. Needs a dual battery. Really a mistake compared to the rest of class. Fit and finish EXCEPT the glove box are superb.
Handling: Excellent manners, and once you are accustomed to the slow speed handling, the boat inspires actions. Really carves corners at speed. Have had her in 5-6 foot seas. not desireable, but she handles them very well. Excellent ride up to two to three foot seas.
Engine Room: Twin 140 horse motors. Four stroke, four cylinders. The motors are superb. Boat is quiet compared with all others I have been on. Twin jets aid handling and combined with the twin engines, insures you get home.
General Comments: We love the boat. Excellent in the Florida Keys. Maybe the best possible design down here. I can put her into areas that are impossible for any other 23' bowrider. Only problem we have dealt with really is the service. Dealers still treat the customer like these are toys, they are not investments, the factory knows all, and they refuse to correct any design problems, even though it's a first year boat.
