Boat Reviews By Owners

1998 -- 21' 6" SEA RAY

Model: 215 Express Cruiser

Cockpit: There is ample room in the cockpit for four to six people. I wish the helm had a flip up bolster as visibility is poor sitting. Makes a good fishing boat when removable stern filler cushions are stowed.

Cabin: Cabin is just big enough for two to get in out of the sun when the table is converted to a berth. There is an enclosed porta-potti, which keeps the wife and kids content for a long day on the water. Storage is ample under the forward berth's cushions and under the makeshift galley which has just a pressurized sink.

Construction: Construction seems to be solid. I have not experienced any major problems to date. Inspection of the fuel tank is difficult though, and there is not much room to navigate once you are in the engine compartment.

Handling: Handling and performance is okay. Standard power mercruiser does have a hard time getting the boat on plane with a full load. I would not take this boat out in over 4ft seas though. Opt for the larger engine.

Engine Room: 5.0L Mercrusiser has performed admirably. No major complaints. Occaisonally runs a little on the warm side.

General Comments: This is a good starter boat for a small family that wants to try boating without investing a fortune in a lot of bells and whistles that usually don't get used.
