Boat Reviews By Owners

2004 -- 21' 8" BAYLINER

Model: 212

Cockpit: Visibility is good even with the convertable top up unlike the bow rider models. Its easily converted to a fishng boat comfortable for only 2 anglers.

Cabin: Cabin is good for 2. Water and moisture is a problem in very hot conditions.

Construction: Construction needs improvment. The interior workmanship is poor. Chair backings are made from cheap wood which needs to be improved. The cabin door needs to be redesigned as it is not easily secured open and locked properly.

Handling: Craft handles excellent in calm conditions. Does not handle large wakes well or chop conditions very well. Good in the ocean in 2 to 4' seas no more than that. The rating of 9 passengers is a bit much. With 9 people its a dog to get on plane.

Engine Room: The large V8 is a monster in this boat. Tuned this craft peaked at 48.9 MPH. Plugs and most parts easily accessable. Outdrive is easily maintained and serviced.

General Comments: I love the boat however there is one design flaw. The center window leaks in heavy rain conditions which allows water to leak into the gauge cluster then into the cabin and the electronics area. Radio is fryed from this and I have not been able to correct the condition without putting a messy bead of sealant in the gauge cluster. This model also does not come with a depth finder, automatick bilge and dual battery. 3 MUST have's with a boat. Especially an overnighter.
