1974 -- 24' 0" SEA RAY
Model: 240 SRV HD
Cockpit: The Cockpit is App.6.6x13 feet wwith an over engine bench seat that coverts to a queen size bed. This area is outside of the hard top salon area for sunning and has a full canvas cover. The original dinnette has been removed and a copilot seat with chart table and lighting has been built over cabinets and the fresh water tank. The dinnette table is now removable and tilt up along the port wall. this gives us much neede floor space when the table is not in use. There are two steps down two the galley and head. The Galley is forward of the copilot station and is smaal but usable with a 2 burner gas stove, microwave, sink and cabinets. Across from the galley is a enclosed head and electrcal cabinet. The helm is aft of the head with full instumentation for two engines and navigation electronics. The helm seat is built over a set of cabinetts and a refrigerator, salon heat and inverter charger system. There is also a colemane 400 cu.in.gas grill aft.
Cabin: The foward cabin is a a comfortable v-birth with window hatch adaquate lighting, tv-vcr,heat and fans. The bi-fold door offers complete privacy
Construction: Well built fiberglass with what i think is a hull with classic lines'She has full stainless rails adequate walkway, swimm platform and trim tabs, and foward anchor locker.
Handling: We have inherited this vessel and have enjoyed it's resoration and use so far. This boat does not have a great hole shot but is not bad at WOT. The boat can take a full hard power turn and is a rthrill to be running nearly on her rails!
Engine Room: Twin mercruiser 140HP with turbo chargers The engines run well and will cruise at 25 MPH at 3500 rpm 30mph at 4000 rpm and so on.The milafe at cruise is only 1.5 MPG
General Comments: I love the old boat but not the milage. We have enjoyed short to medium range cruises 100 to 250 miles 1 way. The boat is comfortable for four persons on this length of trip. Iam looking for sea ray owners who have twin engines and would like to hear of their performance!
