Boat Reviews By Owners

2004 -- 19' 6" SEA PRO

Model: SV1900

Cockpit: Cockpit is built and designed very well. Very comfortable to drive, all switches, gauges and controls are in the right place. Visibility is great. This baby is a fishing machine! It fishes three adults with ease. It's very stable even if three adult males are all standing on the same side.

Cabin: n/a

Construction: I am very impressed with the construction of our boat. So far no problems. Sea Pro uses all SS hardware and all thru hull fittings are either SS or bronze. We have had her in some pretty seriously rough water and I have yet to find a single loose screw, nut bolt, wire, anything.

Handling: This is where we are VERY impressed. The handlling is very stable and predictable. It tracks very well, turns steady and can turn much sharper than I expected. The hull performs speed wise like most of the liner bay boats, with the Honda 150 it runs about 52mph(gps) but is propped a little off, at this speed the tach is reading about 5900 rpm, should be around 5500. Last weekend we were down in Port Aransas, TX. I had been poking around in the bay for awhile and I really wanted to take a run offshore but I had my wife and child with me. I could see an oil rig about 7 miles offshore, my son really wanted to go so I decided to give it a try. The swells on the way out were a little larger than I expected but the boat handleded them with no problems. Got out to the rig(darn thing was being towed)and decided to come back, by then the weather had taken a turn for the worse, I was begining to panic a little as I had my wife and child with me. The swells were soon in the 4-6ft range and the Sea Pro got us home safely!! My wife is extemely impressed with this boat and so am I.

Engine Room: We went with a Honda BF150 and I am glad that I did. Honda products are built with extreme quality and this motor shows it. It is very powerful and even more quiet. I love this motor and it just sips gas. What more could I ask for?

General Comments: I have to say that I am very happy with our decision to buy a Honda equiped Sea Pro. Next boat I buy will be a Sea Pro and it will be powered by a Honda motor. The Sea Pro was thousands of dollars less than some of the other brands of boats and If feel it is just as good. If you are looking for a great boat at a great price I strongly urge you to take a SERIOUS look at the Sea Pro's!!!
