Boat Reviews By Owners

2005 -- 30' 0" MONTEREY

Model: 302 Cruiser

Cockpit: Excellant visibility, plenty of room to seat 9. Rear bench is removable to make fishing room. Swimstep is full width, and deep enough to fish from.

Cabin: Very good floorplan, seating for 6 or 7. Sleeps 5 comfortably. Aisleway is wide enough to pass each other. Aft stateroom has locking full-size door to it. Head is stand-up, and room to actually take a shower. Very good ventilation.

Construction: Heavy, hand-laid glass ... you can feel how solid the hull is in moderate swells. No shuddering, or vibration noticeable.

Handling: Almost 50 mph right out of the box ... planes easily, trim is easy to figure out with tabs, and the Volvo duo-prop drives. Westcoast cruiser, with plenty of range.

Engine Room: 2005 low emissions Volvo 5.0's. Smooth, quiet, and responsive. They are so quiet at idle, my slip neighbors don't hear me coming or going. With just over 25 hours, 1.5 mpg at 3000 rpm cruise (right around 28-29 mph).

General Comments: Completely satisfied with the new boat. Coastal cruising, and Mexico are in the plans.
