Boat Reviews By Owners

2001 -- 17' 2" SEA FOX

Model: 172 center console

Cockpit: It has a nice sized cockpit, fairly large for the boats size. Good helm visibility. Very good for offshore trolling and drifting for kingfish and wahoo.

Cabin: N/A

Construction: The boat was very well built for the price, and I've had from 2001 and the boat has no major stess fractures, practicly none, Dry boat, rides very smooth for a 17 foot boat. Water comes in scuppers in excessive amounts, just get external scuppers and you'll be fine.

Handling: Handles very well, it could be more stable at low speeds, fast hole shots, planes quickly.

Engine Room: I have a 2000 Mercury saltwater 90, it speeds the boat to about 42 mph. It really makes the sea fox hull get and go. Only one problem with the engine ever, and it was only minor. Mercury!!

General Comments: I use her for fishing, fishing, fishing, and well, fishing. She's best suited for light offshore use, and backwater fishing.
