Boat Reviews By Owners

1989 -- 28' 0" CARVER

Model: 2827

Cockpit: The cock pit is large enough for several people to stand or fish off of the back. We have had 4 deck chairs and coolers back there with room left over. The fly bridge seats 6! Big party area.

Cabin: Lot of storage! My wife loves that. For a 28 footer she has plenty of room for 3 or 4 people to loung around. The galley is a little narrow, but you have everything you need. Sleeps 2 adults comforatably in the forward cabin. Only 1 comforatbly on the pull out couch. One to two on the dinette/bed.

Construction: Pretty well built for her price range. Some blistering on her hull, but was simple to have fixed. Good windows. Crome is in great shape. Double clamps on all hoses, they used good materials from clamps to hoses to pumps.

Handling: With twin engins she is easy to dock. If you have many people on the fly bridge in less then calm seas she lists and this can be concerning until you get used to it. A little slow, she only crusies at 18-20 mph.

Engine Room: Twin 220 gas crusaders. A little under powered, but she moves well and the engines have never given me any troubles.

General Comments: This is a great family "Camping" boat. Lots of storage space, nice cock pit, good swim platform...all good if you use your boat more for family gatherings. Would be good on a long trip, although a little slow.
