Boat Reviews By Owners
1987 -- 39' 3" CHRIS CRAFT
Model: stinger
Cockpit: cock pits tight, room for six, the visibility is excellent, controll arrangments right there.
Cabin: Ya got to be a midget to stand up in the cabin, but the starboard and port bench type seating is compfortable, small head and gally, it will sleep four O.K.
Construction: Over built to goverment specs, makes it a little heavy, but real stable in high seas. Boats so long and narrow it cuts through one wave goes over the other with out spillen yer drink, the cock pits so far to the aft its hard to tell if she ever comes out of the water.
Handling: the responce is on command, for a long boat she turns sharp, docks real nice, real stable turns even at 65 mph, never a chim walker, overall shes just one tuff beast.
Engine Room: the twin 420 H P merc cruisers with the TRS drives are a good combination, but a little modest for this size boat, it cruises well at fifty tops out at about seventy, it be real nice with twin 600 H P but I'm affraid of the attack on the wallet at the gas pump for the extra boost.
General Comments: over all the cigarette type boats its my opinion that the stinger always had the sleekest lines and the best cockpit placement, and it's not hard to tell why the U.S. Customs Service chose this boat as there choice when your out in the open sea, shes nothing less then a war horse! it's time she went back to the sea.
