Boat Reviews By Owners

1985 -- 17' 0" BAJA

Model: Sunsport 174

Cockpit: In a 17' boat it is small as one would think, but being 6'1" I can still fit behind the wheel OK.

Construction: The hull seems well built. I can take wakes relatively easy. Still have to slow down a little though, as most boats of this size do.

Handling: The boat takes turn nicely and handles moderate chop easily.

Engine Room: The power is from a mercruiser 140 inline 4-cylinder. Even though this is an older engine it still has enough spunk to run this small boat into the low to mid 40 mph range.

General Comments: I believe I found a steal I have had this boat for two years now and we ran it hard this past summer. Mainly tubing...a little kneeboarding...No troubles yet. The previous owner took very good care of it. I guess I got lucky. There are no fancy gadgets, but who needs it?
