Boat Reviews By Owners

1988 -- 17' 6" HYDRA SPORTS

Model: Vector 1750 DC

Cockpit: Very roomy cock pit, excellent for casting shore lines and points for 2 people. Also a good ski boat.

Cabin: N/A

Construction: Very well built. Solid SS fittings. Bow rail fully welded - no fittings or set screws. Non-skid deck well done. Biggest problem is capacity limited to 650# by a) big gas tank and b) cost cutting when built

Handling: Handled poorly wi 90 hp on it - then put a hydrofoil stabilizer on it. For this boat/motor combo the tail made a remarkable difference - planed quicker @ lower rpm - eliminated porpoising totally.

Engine Room: 1988 Evinrude 90 HP. Gas hog and loud but runs very well. Use SS spark plugs wi hi output wires rather than OEM. Getting random engine alarms but are consuming oil at right quantity? Change the sending unit in the oil tank - not the VRO pump -the circuit board cover goes bad after repeated freeze thaw cycles from storage and then morning dew shorts out board.

General Comments: Great all round fishing skiing boat in the Les Cheneaux islands of Lake Huron.
