Boat Reviews By Owners

2005 -- 18' 0" CROWLINE

Model: 180BR

Cockpit: The cockpit is laid out very well except for a few minor flaws. The cooler is located next to the engine under the rear sunpad. It is pretty hard to get to. I also wish that the carpet could be removed for easier cleaning. The only other thing that I can nitpick is actually a personal issue, I am 6'5" tall and the windshield is right in my sightline. The interior is great with a high quality feel.

Cabin: n/a

Construction: The finish on this boat is impecable. I beached my boat several times and there isn't a single scratch on the hull. Very well built.

Handling: This boat defenitely isn't for open waters. My wife, dog, and I spent most of last summer cruising the tributaries of the southern Chesapeake and it was perfect. We did take it out into the bay (60'+deep water) occasionally and it handled fine, as long as we didn't go too fast and chose the right day to do it.

Engine Room: I have the 3.0 Volvo and it runs smoothly, defenitely worth the extra money. My only complaint is the lack of fuel injection. It was very fuel efficient and the performance was good enough for about 40mph.

General Comments: I love this boat!!! The fit and finish is top notch. It doesn't ride like a cruiser, but definitely better than its competition. I do have a sad side note though, my wife is making me sell it to get a 26' cruiser so we can take weekend trips. I will probably buy another Crownline, but from a different dealer (a whole different story)
