Boat Reviews By Owners
2005 -- 22' 0" WELLCRAFT
Model: 220 Sportsman
Cockpit: Plenty of room to move about and fish- even with 5 adults and their fishing gear onboard! Great visibility over the bow.
Cabin: No cabin here- this is a dual console. But we have a small enclosed bathroom inside the passenger console for emergencies.
Construction: Awsome material. The seats and the fiberglass all get a lot of wear and use and they still look good.
Handling: This thing flies if we want it to. Even the people sitting in the bow stay nice and dry on mildly rocky days. We used it in Buzzard's Bay, Massachusets. This thing handles nice. It cuts through the waves without riding over them. -And when we are standing still while bottom fishing, it is still very stable. Of course any boat is going to bob around a little, but at least this one doesnt feel like a see-saw.
Engine Room: 200 hp four stroke Yamaha. Great acceleration out of the hole. Good on gas, and almost inaudible while its in idle.
General Comments: We use it for mostly fishing, trolling for stripers, chasing the seagulls for blues, and every once and a while, when the ladies also want to go out for a ride, we cruise or stop at a sand bar to get out and explore. This is a great all-around-use boat for us because its basicly a bow rider that is built for fishing. We have lots of fun on it.
