Boat Reviews By Owners

1987 -- 16' 7" BOSTON WHALER

Model: Montauk

Cockpit: Small but holds lots of stuff and has 2 ventilated solid teak doors

Cabin: whats that?

Construction: Solid foam core with 4,300 lbs swamped capacity that is unmatched It will take way more abuse than my spine!

Handling: Ok she pounds a bit but just slow down and with some throttle adjustment you will learn to surf. Bow almost impossible to bury with experience-20 yrs now in my second Montauk In big following seas she is WONDERFULL and trolls great even with sideways seas to about 5 ft I always though Whalers were overrated till I bought mine

Engine Room: 90 HP Evinrude FICHT 2000 yr gets about 6-8 miles per gallon and top speed about 42 mph

General Comments: Going out the Golden Gate Bridge almost weekly for salmon off Marin Coast of Ca yes the potatoe patch in a 17 footer can get pretty knarly but I feel safe 98% of time
