Boat Reviews By Owners
2004 -- 32' 0" CENTURY
Model: 32WA
Cockpit: Cockpit is first rate. Good size - drianes fairly well. Twin fish boxes in deck with macerators. Rear bait station with fresh and raw water. 62 gallon livewell is huge and has an 800 gph pump. Rear freshwater shower on transom. Excellent dive ladder. Helm visibility is excellent although there is not large flat panels for large screen electronics. Rod storage on side has door and is lockable. you can put 6 rods and reels away and not worry about theft or being exposed to the elements - extremely nice feature. Hard top with Outriggers work great. Adding an enclosure to the helm was easy.
Cabin: Unit I have has the cherry wood upgrade. It is beautiful inside. Workmanship is good. Microwave, propane stove, AC, flat screen TV/DVD player, generator. Boat is great for a short weekend for a couple but crowded. You can only jam so much into a 32' boat and have large cockpit. Stand up shower, but only if you ar short. Plan on sitting down to shower.
Construction: Century builds a tank. The weight of this boat is over 10,000 lbs dry weight w/o engines. Fully loaded she is nearly 15,000 lbs. After 3 years of ownership, boat has no stress cracks anywhere. Electical system is a weaker point. Had some issues with switches. Access to rear pumps and generator is difficult for anyon larger than 140 lbs. Extremely tight. Mase generator is fairly difficult to work on due to low location in rear of transom.
Handling: When I purchased this boat the only 4 stroke option was the 225 Yamahas. This boat can use more power. Today they put 250's on it. Boat cruises at 31 mph at 4600 rpm at about 1.3 mpg. With a 24 degree deadrise she handles 4 -6 footers easily. Like all deep deadrise boats she has tendency to lean into the wind and banks like plane when turning. Trim tabs are used a lot. Boat is fairly dry. A nice comfortable ride.
Engine Room: Yamaha 225's have been pretty bulletproof. As mentioned above - more HP is needed for this boat to run at its best. Run quietly at low speed and at acceptable level at cruising speed. You do not have to shout to be heard at the helm. Good engines
General Comments: Mainly fishing and short weekends. If you want to go away for a week or two, it is going to get a little cramped
This boat gives you the ability to keep the wife happy and have nice fishing machine. I have looked at a lot of other walk arounds and this one is as nice or nicer than any of them.
