Boat Reviews By Owners

1998 -- 24' 4" MONTEREY

Model: 242 Cruiser

Cockpit: Comfortable seats, reasonable access to all controls.

Cabin: Ok to sleep two people. Best to sleep with head toward bow. Mid cabin is sleepable, however mine is used for storage. Frig. is adequate, head area is small. Sleep area converts to table. Storage area against wall.

Construction: Nothing big too complain about. Built solid and simple. The cockpit surrounding glass could have been secured a little better. The eck os very solid - I installed a rod holder and was impressed by the floor thickness.

Handling: Stable and manuverable. Scary on side of waves when on plane.

Engine Room: Gm with a volvo DP IO. 220 hp. Boat is powered adequate. So far, very reliable. Could pull a skier or two with a full load.

General Comments: I try to fish from this boat - bad idea. Very good simple cruiser, great for hanging out and an occasional sleepover. The electrical system could use better shielding from electrical noise. This boat is strudy, and reliable. Pretty good design.
