Boat Reviews By Owners

2006 -- 22' 6" STARCRAFT

Model: Islander

Cockpit: For a big man the cock pit is very roomy. I can sit or stand while maintaining control. extremly large dash allows for all the electronics with an easy view and reach.

Cabin: The cabin has room enough for 2 people to sleep and a port-a-potty as well. Sure makes it nice for the wife when you want to spend a long day on the water to be able to change clothes and use the head.

Construction: I heard from a people saying that riveted hulls will leak. when I asked them if they ever owned an Islander they all said "NO" I haven't talked to anyone who has ever owned one that said they had trouble.

Handling: The handling is unbelievable. I had the boat out on the lake pulling 2 college age young men on one tube at the same time and it preformed great. I could crank the wheel and spin a circle without any trouble at all.

Engine Room: The 4.3 preforms fantastic. Great mileage. It will do 40 mph with 2 big men in the boat and handles well. It is a little light when it comes to rough water. But 3 to 4 footers are no trouble.

General Comments: This is a incredible Great Lakes fishing boat that is light enough to trailer to your favorite body of water. I have pulled it over 500 mile one way with my Chevy Trail Blazer with a 4.2 liter I-6 Getting it in and out of the ramp is no trouble either. The Trail Blazer is tow rated for 5600 lbs and the boat is 3800 dry.
